Oprah Winfrey Beats Beyonce Knowles as World's Most Popular celebrity

OPRAH Winfrey has been named the world’s most powerful celebrity.

The TV star — who fronts The Oprah Winfrey Show and is the president of media company Harpo Productions — has topped the annual Most Powerful Celebrity poll conducted by Forbes magazine, knocking Angelina Jolie off the top spot with earnings of $315 million last year.

The 56-year-old star was previously named top of the coveted list in 2007 and 2008, before Angelina — who is now in 18th position — took over from her in 2009.

The 2010 figures also include a number of new stars, with Lady GaGa flying into fourth place with earnings of $62 million, behind Beyonce Knowles with $87 million in second, and film director James Cameron in third with $210 million earned last year.

The Forbes Most Powerful Celebrity list looks at wealth, TV/radio popularity, press rank, web rank and social status — with even Twitter followers being taken into consideration.

The 2010 poll placed Twilight star Robert Pattinson on the list for the first time, in 50th position following the success of the vampire movies, and after earning $17 million last year.

His costar and rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart came 66th after earning $12 million from the franchise and working on new movie The Runaways.

Despite a tumultuous year in her personal life, Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock was placed eighth in the poll after pocketing $56 million in the past 12 months. She was just behind golfer Tiger Woods, who was placed fifth, Britney Spears, sixth, and rock band U2 — consisting of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. — who were placed seventh.

Beauty Tips/Collagen injection

Collagen is a protein found normally in body tissues that is responsible for the texture, shape and resilience of the skin. This is the basis for its use on wrinkles and aging skin since it replaces lost tissue and rejuvenates the skin. The collagen used for injections for facial treatment is derived from human tissue and cow tissue.
A couple of skin tests are first done within the month before having the collagen injections to ensure that there will be no allergic reactions that may occur, although only two percent of people who undergo this treatment have an allergic response to the collagen. Collagen has been certified safe to use by the Food and Drug Administration.
Collagen levels the depression in most scars from acne and other injuries. It is also injected on the lips to enhance its fullness and youthful appearance. It is also used to diminish the appearance of wrinkles around the mouth area, eyes and chin. Once injected into the skin, it will maintain its youthful effect on the skin for at least ninety days since collagen is also metabolized by the body. If the body has a fast metabolism, then the effect of collagen will also be reduced.
These collagen shots may sometimes be painful although for just a short period of time. It usually takes a week for the collagen to settle in the skin. During this period, your face may be inflamed and red, which may last for a week. Ice can be used within the next twenty four hours after treatment to soothe the skin. Do not use any other product during the recovery period since an infection might develop. When the collagen settles, the face will appear smooth visually, but rough to touch.
The price of collagen injections varies with the doctor. You are usually charged by the amount of collagen injected in cubic centimeters (cc's). The average cost for a collagen injection is $300.00 to $500.00 per injection.

My 12 most annoying celebrities

We have the sexy and attractive, beauty and the beast, respectable and hardworking as well as the talentless and arrogant celebrities but let’s not forget the annoying and irritating celebs.

Today I need a little help to dissect, digest and elaborate on how our celebrities’ behaviour can be best described. I am not a tough cookie, it’s all about the truth. Just think through as you read this publication and you will see eye to eye with me. Now let’s hit it hard but with caution:

1. Yvonne Nelson: If anyone is not totally tired of her snooty girl attitude this drama queen has been displaying, then I am. Girl, get a grip. If you do not seek some kind of group therapy, your career will continue to go down the drain even further than it already has. You are good at what you do but you need to sit up and fix the weakness in your soul.

So far Ms. Nelson has already been slapped with a one year ban in Ghana and Nigeria, Yvonne, your fans are getting disappointed day in day out.

Your fans love you, don’t you think they deserve more than what you are giving them in return? It’s surely not wise to ‘cut your nose to spite your face.’

2. Mimi Divalish : Best known for her ‘wardrobe malfunctioning’, persistent and tenacious attitude, her talent is highly questionable. It makes me wonder, what really makes Mimi a celebrity? Is she a Ghanaian version of Paris Hilton? Doing nothing, yet getting the fame and money?

3. Mzbel : We have seen those legs and vajayjayso many times. Another celeb flaunting and inflicting her poor wardrobe mishaps at every given opportunity.

Less is not always more Mzbel. How easy it is to predict Mzbel’s stage appearances with the monotonous exhibition of skin, skin and more skin.

When will this girl grow up and dress like a woman? I do love that fact that she has that ability to potray youth and vitality but surly at some point it’s gonna get tired.

At her work? She is a good musician and she has been able to keep her career going despite the male dominance and all the hardship she went through.

Asamoah Gyan: I’m sure you’ll agree 2010 was really a bad year for him. Asamoah really tried our patience though he eventually got what he wanted.

I will cut him some slack, but cutting Ghanaians loose in the last world cup game made him one of my most annoying Ghanaian celebrities.

I bet you that the crazy woman proclaiming her love for him is doing so because of the “obakono no” dance with Castro, not his game on the field.

Undoubtedly, the most memorable event in his career will be Suarez encounter and Ghanaian’s reaction. Asamoah turned out to be Ghana’s Suarez after the exit from the tournament. I am not revisiting, jus checking in on him. I love his dance though…

5. Kwasi Pratt Jnr: Wake up early in the morning for some coffee and Kwasi Pratt will make you miss your breakfast, the most important meal of the day. His voice and choice of words will irritate you to the max. Although, he is versatile, charismatic and truthful sometimes, he really does qualify as a paparazzi! Well kinda like us all here on GC he is a bit of celebrity basher but he takes it to a whole other level, hands down. He is hysterical. He is annoying to me for his chameleon nature.

6. Juliet Ibrahim: Did I just wake up on the wrong side of my bed or is it really true Juliet Ibrahim is the best actress in Ghana? If I am sleeping, please people wake me up. I believe her sassiness is what truly got her a job as an actress, which is never a bad thing but is it enough to be given best actress. I admit she has improved over the years, maybe with time she will become excellent. Until then, her acting is still annoying to me.

7.Jeremie (4syte Tv Fame) : Quick question for readers, is this 4stye TV hostess a Ghanaian-American or a normal Ghanaian upcoming celebrity with a locally acquired foreign accent? It’s really hard to tell nowadays. She fits well in my list of most annoying Ghanaian celebrities. Her fake locally acquired foreign accent is very annoying. Turn off the radio!

8. Okyeame Kwame : Okyeame Kwame makes facebook a nightmare. My linguist, if you need to be reminded, you are a celebrity. Leave certain stories for the press and media to publish for you.

We have heard enough of you and your family. Undoubtedly, you got a beautiful family, but updating us on where you went, did and had for dinner, please, spare us all that, except when you update us on what you did in the bedroom. For that, we will love to hear..lol

9. Rufus (Benie Mac): If I write a lot about this guy, he will end up being the biggest celebrity, so I will just say, “Rufus, enough of your locally acquired foreign accent”.

10. Van Vicker : It is hightime this issue is dealt with. Sexy Vicker, you are so yummy, but escaping from the Ghanaian movie scenes and doing all these Nigerian and out of Ghana movies is annoying. We want you back on our screens and in a Ghanaian movie along side our beautiful actresses.

11. Asem : Fylla ooo, fylla. How the hell can you buzz Confidence, Edem and Asamoah Gyan out in your 2010 fylla single, while there is a whole page of lyrics to be written about your own 2010 lifestyle.

Dude, remove the speck in your eyes before you remove the log in other’s eye. Self acclaimed “propagandist”. Does anyone have an ab-rocket, treadmill or bowflex machine i can borrow for Asem Pigaro??

Here is a remix to your song “Fylla” : testing mic, 1-2, check check, give me a beat: fylla oo, fylla, this be 2010 fylla, Asem gain 142 pounds more, this be 2010 fylla, shame, fylla o, fylla. Should I add the alleged raping of Queenie? Still under investigation so cut the beat.

12. John Dumelo : Surprisingly and unfortunately, he appears on this list. There is no doubt he is cute and a good actor, but I don’t think it is funny anymore, the earlier he hit the treadmill, the better.

John, my birthday present for you this year is that “FYI take yourself to the GYM” Stop flaunting and strutting what one readers termed as “Banku pack”. “It ain’t cute”. It is getting annoying for me

Beauty Trend: Autumn/Winter 2011-12 Metal Heads

THERE was a metallic mood in Paris as far as beauty was concerned. Chanel's boyish biker collection was given a touch of feminine rock-and-roll with shimmering silver eyes and liquid metal grey nails care of their in-house creative director of make-up, the inimitable Peter Philips. Later in the day, make-up artist Pat McGrath gave the eyes at Valentino a glimmering treatment by co-ordinating an iridescent blush on the eyes with the colour of the nude chiffon clothes. The true silver statement, however, was made at Alexander McQueen, where the girls were given metallic skull caps care of Guido Palau and his team who loaded up on the metal slides covering the entire head. Iron maidens, indeed.

Kate Moss Appears in Louis Vuitton

Fashion may have lost two of its greatest showmen, but Marc Jacobs closed Paris Fashion Week with a thunderous spectacle that suggested happy days are here again. Inspired not so subtly by the sexy thriller The Night Porter, Jacobs sent out one of the season’s best collections, staged against an opulent setting that included an ornate art-deco elevator, six bellhop attendants, and of course, loads and loads of girls. Along with the current cream of the crop, Marc gathered some of the titans of all time, including Carmen Kass, Jourdan Dunn, Amber Valletta, Naomi Campbell, and the glorious Kate Moss. Proving that some things in fashion just don’t age, Kate closed the show, sauntering out in a rubber and lace jacket with hot pants, provocatively puffing on a cigarette.

Louis Vuitton's Ladylike Fetishism

Paris – If anyone doubts that this is the most covered up European fashion season in memory, then they should check out the latest fall 2011 collection by Louis Vuitton, where even though the theme was fetishism, there was practically no flesh on display.
French maids suggestively dusted down the stairs at the entrance to this show, staged in a courtyard in the Louvre on Wednesday, March 9, in Paris, the last day of shows of a four-city season lasting one month.
Models in suggestive uniforms with tiny plastic masks, S&M corsets, mini handcuffs and bits of bondage hit the glassy black catwalk, though in the most ladylike of doses.
"I just love the idea of revealing something, and not giving everything away, you know, at the first moment of keeping something covered," explained Vuitton's creative director Marc Jacobs backstage. "Some things were strict but some things were quite saucy, almost innocent. Everything was covered up, there was no skin, I mean very little skin, some girls didn't wear any skirts so they showed their legs, yet it was conservative."
Jacobs also served up lots of great products, from nipped waists yet voluminous coats, often worn with just boots, snazzy pencil skirts and high-waisted jodhpurs that all looked great. And there was plenty of firepower in the accessories - suggestive rubber riding boots with high heels or lacy fetish booties, LV-stamped totes or commercial and cool fur shoulder bags.
This Vuitton show was the most polished of any of the some 400 shows on any official calendar. In a brilliant piece of production, the house built four faux antique elevators, which liveried porters opened for the naughty models. Even the wrought iron gates were custom made with built-in LV initials.
It was a no expenses spared moment of frothy Parisian panache by an American designer at the height of his game.

What: The Rules of the Game
When: 1939
Who: Coco Chanel

Mlle Chanel counted the French filmmaker Jean Renoir among her circle of intellectual friends and lent her talents—and her namesake house's wares—to his films. She provided lavish, regal costumes for the monarchs and courtiers of La Marseillaise (1937), but dressing the wealthy country house denizens of Renoir's most famous film, The Rules of The Game, found her squarely in her element.
